78 Thomasians pass February 2026 mechanical engineer boards

The University produced 78 mechanical engineers out of 106 examinees in the February 2026 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examinations (MELE), according to results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Thursday, Feb. 19.

UST recorded a 73.58 percent passing rate, a significant increase from its 51.35 percent rate in February 2025, with 76 passers out of 148 examinees.

Jose Arnil Corong Jr. of Visayas State University - Baybay led the new batch of mechanical engineers with a score of 93.25 percent.

University of the Philippines - Diliman snagged the spot for the top-performing school, with all 64 of its takers passing the examination.

The MELE was held on Feb. 11, 12, and 13, in testing centers across NCR, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Zamboanga, and Puerto Princesa.
